Manolo Fortich Water District History

 

Local water districts are created by virtue of PD 198, otherwise known as the Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973.

Formed under the Mayorship of Hon. Johnny C. Albarece, thru an SB Resolution # 48 dated July 7, 1988.

On June 19, 1989, LWUA issued a Certificate of Conformance No. 401 signed by Administrator Ricardo T. Quebral and Benjamin Diokno, Chairman of LWUA Board of Trustees.

On February 26, 1996 MFWD Board of Directors passed SB Resolution number 99-144 resolution allowing the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich to manage the water district.

It was managed under the Office of Manolo Fortich Water Works System effective 16, April 1996 and headed by Mr. Marcos Arbole from April 16, 1996-March 31, 2001.

During the Administration of Former Mayor Socorro O. Acosta, an SB Resolution Number 2002-60 was passed with the intent of reviving the Manolo Fortich Water District with the new set of Board of Directors namely:

 

  • Hon. Rogelio N. Quiño – Chairman
  • Engr. Rogelio K. Pangan – Vice Chairman
  • Mr. Ponciano Chavez – Member
  • Mr. Alejo Inihao – Member
  • Ms. Euvigilda Castro – Member
  • Mr. Melecio R. Liesol – General Manager

 

Manolo Fortich Water District started its operation as independent and autonomous entity on July 1, 2002.

Starting October 1, 2003, Engr. Rogelio K. Pangan took the office as General Manager.
